Chiang Mai in a Nutshell!

6:00 PMNichole DuPont

Have you ever wanted to go somewhere that gives you tons of options to do adventurous things?! Things like play with elephants, sit next to a large tiger, or go zip lining where the monkeys swing?! If you said yes to any of these things then you should visit Chiang Mai in Thailand. A beautiful but busy city north of Bangkok. A lot of tourists head to this city because of all the interesting activities!

Our hotel "Rati Lanna Spa Resort " was right on the river and made us feel like millionaires. An infinity pool with an attached bar is always a thumbs up in our book. It wasn't too far from the city center so it was perfect!

This is what happens when you give a girl a luxury hotel to stay at! Bikini on and ready to go! After a dip in the pool and quick soak in the tub we got ready to go out and see the city!

I love traveling by Tuk Tuk, if only I could of taken one home and drive it around the city.

The bars have all of our childhood games like connect four and checkers! I could of staid there all night but after a couple loses I gave up.

The Night Bazaar was full of great food, interesting people and fun things to buy as souvenirs! There is a day/night market in most Thailand cities so don't miss out on an opportunity to go! It was time to head back to our hotel and try to get some sleep since we planned a lot for the next day.

The next morning we woke up early to start our day and to go see some friends!

These tigers were amazing! Of course I was a little nervous but he seemed chill. If you'd like to hang out with tigers for a day check out Tiger Kingdom. Don't worry! These beautiful tigers are not drugged or abused. They don't wear chains, they walk around freely in the area. Here is a Link about the facts of Tiger Kingdom tigers! >> The FactsIf you decide you want to visit an elephant farm/park I recommend Patara Elephant Farm and Elephant Nature Park. These two places actually rescue abused elephants. Please be careful when you pick a place to go see elephants or any kind of animal, there are some companies that abuse animals.
Another exciting and adrenaline rush activity to do in Chiang Mai is Zip Lining! There are tons of companies to check but I went with Eagle Track Zip lining . The staff was great and fun to hang out with!

Zip lining is tons of fun and the people that work at Eagle Track were great! I wasn't rushed at all and they made it fun!

The view from the trees were amazing ! Trust me you don't want to miss out on this, unless your afraid of heights!

We finally ended our tree hopping and it was time to head back to the hotel to enjoy the rest of the day. We decided to get dressed and head into the city to have some wine.

After a couple of glasses we called it a day and headed back. Our last day was to go see the temples up on a high mountain called  Wat Phra That Doi Suthep.

The Temples in Thailand make me feel like I'm in the 1300's walking barefoot and thanking the Kings. It's truly amazing to walk around these temples that have been here for centuries.

  3. This place looks great! I have always wanted to stroke a tiger and play with a baby elephant (and, well, play with most wild animals, really...) It's good to know which places treat the animals well and which don't.
    Lovely blog you have :)

    1. Thank you Coco! I'm the same, I love meeting wild animals but I try to do my research and ask around so I don't pick a place that abuses the animals. Hope you can visit Thailand, you'd love it!
