cherry blossoms DC

Early for Cherry Blossoms

8:34 AMNichole DuPont

My sister was coming up from Florida for work in DC. I decided to pick her up and that we would go see the cherry blossoms. I was so excited and surprised that I found a parking spot right next to the river and didn't have to pay for it! I guess on weekends a lot of places don't charge for parking.

We found one cherry blossom tree out of all of the Jefferson Memorial area. It was crowded by so many people. We were able to take a couple of pictures of the beautiful flowers and then be on our way.

Of course I had to have a little fun! My sister was visiting so we always have a good time!

We started walking around the Jefferson memorial Sadly we were too early for cherry blossoms but the festival was still going on! There were a lot of people walking around and getting in the tiny paddle boats. My sister and I decided not to go on the paddle boat, the wind was horrible that day! We saw people drift by and had a hard time to get control of the boat. So we decided to walk around and grab something to eat. The toothpick is not a far walk from the Jefferson memorial. All the monuments are close to each other and within walking distance which is very nice.

Oh! Hello Mr. President!
Just kidding, thats not his helicopter. The president has a bigger helicopter than that.

If you'd like to know more about the Cherry Blossom trees and how they got to DC here is a great website to check out! > History of Cherry Blossoms in DC.

Everyone was out enjoying the sunny day! There were picnics, and kites flying everywhere. It was relaxing to take a stroll around the historical city.

So many other flowers were blooming and it was the perfect day to walk around to see the monuments. We started walking back to the car but I snapped a few more pictures of the wonderful flowers and little friendzzz.

Sadly the Cherry Blossoms are already gone for Spring. You can check it out on this website >> Cherry Blossom Cam
